Taekwondo Course Content:
What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a martial art originating in Korea that heavily utilizes hand and foot techniques. The sport employs colored belts to indicate skill level, progressing from white to yellow, green, blue, red, and black. Belt exams are typically held every four months, and successful athletes advance to the next level.
How is Taekwondo performed?
Taekwondo matches consist of three 2-minute rounds with a 1-minute rest period between each round. Athletes compete within the established rules. Head strikes are high-scoring but require concentration. Strikes outside the designated areas are considered fouls, resulting in a loss of points.
