What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a martial art and combat sport originating in Korea. Athletes use bare hands and feet to perform various techniques. Taekwondo uses colored belts to indicate levels. The beginner level is white belt, progressing through yellow, green, blue, red, and black belts. Belt exams are usually held every four months.
How is Taekwondo performed?
Taekwondo matches consist of three 2-minute rounds with a 1-minute rest period between each round. Athletes compete within the established rules. Rule violations are considered fouls and result in a loss of points.

Belts and Development Process in Taekwondo
In Taekwondo, the belt system indicates the progression of an athlete. Colored belts (Gup) represent beginner levels, while black belts (Dan) represent advanced levels.

Beginner Levels in Taekwondo:
White Belt (Group 10): Basic stances and movements
Yellow Belt (Groups 9 and 8): Learning the first poomse (Taegeuk Il Jang).
Green Belt (Groups 7 and 6): Combination techniques and basic competition training.
Intermediate Belts in Taekwondo:
Blue Belt (Groups 5 and 4): Advanced blocking and defensive techniques.
