Ankara, as the headquarters of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, has played a key role in the development of the sport. Regular courses were initiated in the 1970s, and this process became institutionalized with the establishment of the federation in 1981. Since the 2000s, national and international organizations have been held in Ankara, and many national athletes have been trained there.
Taekwondo courses are widely held in Ankara's districts such as Mamak, Altındağ, Çankaya, and Keçiören, and coordinated organizations are carried out with the federation's headquarters. Athletes receiving training at all amateur and professional levels develop technically, physically, and mentally.
