Cappadocia ATV Tour Route (4 Hours): Cappadocia Sword Valley side roads, Girls' Monastery Panorama, Çavuşin Town side roads, Lunch, Killik Valley, Ak Valley, Çavuşin Valleys, Love Valley

The tour lasts approximately 6 hours in total; early and late arrivals are possible. Lunch and breaks are included in the tour duration.

About Cappadocia: This region was formed 60 million years ago by the erosion of soft layers created by the lava and ash erupted from Mount Erciyes, Mount Hasandağı, and Mount Göllüdağ, over millions of years by rain and wind. 

About the Valley of Swords: After passing Gorkündere, Zemi Valley, and the Open-Air Museum, the second part of Göreme, the Kılıçlar Valley, begins. It is 15 minutes from Göreme center and 7 km from Ortahisar. Starting from the point where the Open-Air Museum is located, the Kılıçlar Valley continues to the town of Çavuşin.

Where is the Valley of Swords? Starting from the Göreme Open Air Museum, Kılıçlar Valley is one of the most central valleys of Cappadocia. Bounded by the Göreme Open Air Museum on one side and the Güllüdere Valley on the other, the valley has a total length of approximately 3 kilometers. Cappadocia ATV tours are conducted in specific sections of Kılıçlar Valley.

  The Valley of Swords is one of the most beautiful valleys in Göreme. It is also the valley from which hot air balloons take off in Cappadocia. A tunnel reaching 30 meters in length, fairy chimneys of various structures, and old churches are located within the valley. The dovecotes and beehives still in use add a unique atmosphere to the Valley of Swords. While the valley narrows in places, following the Swords Stream, which gives the valley its name, leads to a small canyon consisting of long, closely spaced walls. Our Cappadocia ATV tours are conducted on the secondary roads between these routes. Touring the entire valley by ATV takes approximately 1 hour. The historical ruins of the Girls' Monastery within the valley are one of the most exciting points of interest on the ATV tour. If you want to participate in longer ATV tours, you can extend your tour to a 2-hour route consisting of the Valley of Love and the White Valleys by consulting with guides. You can stop at stalls selling freshly squeezed pomegranate and orange juice, which have a doping effect, within the valley. During our ATV tours at sunrise, hot air balloons will accompany you as you admire the beauty of the Swords Valley.

The Çavuşin Valley encompasses the valley from Paşabağ (Monks' Valley), located around the village of Çavuşin, to the Zelve Open-Air Museum. The old village of Çavuşin is carved into massive rock formations. Dating back to the first century, Çavuşin served as a refuge for Christian monks fleeing Roman attacks. The early Christians created living spaces within the rocks to protect themselves from these attacks. These living spaces were entirely hand-carved into the massive rock masses. The region has infertile soil; therefore, to increase soil fertility, they carved cavities into the rocks to create pigeon nests and provide pigeon droppings. During the Byzantine period, Christianity was practiced more freely, and Islam spread in the region during the Seljuk period. During this time, churches, monasteries, and mosques were built, and a free religious understanding prevailed.

Çavuşin Village contains important historical sites. The Çavuşin Church, the Crusader Church, St. John's Church, the Three Crosses Church, and the Church of John the Baptist are significant. These churches contain centuries-old frescoes and depictions. With a history spanning over a thousand years, these churches have survived to the present day.

Killik Valley is a long valley located south of Çavuşin Village. The valley is an old riverbed. Old sand quarries, once used for sand supply, are found in the valley. With its desert-like structure, it resembles the Central Asian steppes.

Ak Vadi is located south of Çavuşin village, in the upper part of Killik Valley. One end extends to Aşk Valley. The valley is white in color due to the calcareous nature of the soil. Within the white valley formations, there are steep ascent and descent ATV trails.

Love Valley, also known as Bağlıdere Valley, is located west of Göreme. ATVs and motorized vehicles are prohibited within the valley. Our ATV tours go to a rest stop on Love Valley. This rest stop is a hilltop offering panoramic views of Love Valley.

The Whispering Rocks are located on the left side of the road when traveling from Nevşehir towards Avanos, west of Göreme. Situated on a vast plateau, the sculptures consist of figures such as horses, eagles, and owls.

The "Time and Space" Sculpture Park in Cappadocia, created by the famous Australian sculptor Andrew Rogers, whose works can be seen on "Google Earth," features dozens of sculptures he named after himself, including a horse and Cybele (the Phrygian goddess of earth and fertility), the Seten Stone (Threshing Stone), the Angel-Faced Bird, the Tree of Life, the Double-Bodied Single-Headed Lion, the Stone Age, and the First Temple. 
Rogers, also known as "the man who whispers to the universe with stones," has previously created giant sculptures in the Arava Desert in Israel, the Atacama Desert in Chile, the Altiplano region of Bolivia, the Krunegala region of Sri Lanka, the Geelong area of Australia, Akureyri in Iceland, the Gobi Desert in China, and in India.
