Designed as an original project by Turkish architects and engineers, and construction of which was started by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality in 2004, the Kadir Has Congress Center and Sports Hall was opened to service on May 23, 2008. Having hosted numerous international and national sporting events and organizations to date, including the FIBA 2010 World Basketball Championship, European Basketball and Volleyball Championships, and the World Kickboxing Championship, our facility, with its 7200-person capacity, is one of the largest halls in Turkey.
The hall, with a total indoor area of 30,000 square meters, has 464 supporting columns. A cladding combining aluminum composite panels and transparent glass was chosen for the exterior of the hall. 104 floodlights are used for lighting. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including sound systems, climate control, and other technical equipment, our facility surpasses current sports facility standards in every aspect.
Our facility is not only a sports center but also a social and cultural hub, housing exhibition halls and cafes. It includes a 300-seat congress hall, a 200-seat congress hall, and a 100-seat meeting room. Besides team sports like basketball, volleyball, and handball, there are 10 halls equipped with suitable facilities for individual sports such as taekwondo, aerobics, table tennis, wrestling, and squash. Furthermore, a stage suitable for various events (concerts, corporate meetings, etc.) is available in the main hall's grandstand area. There is a parking area with a total capacity of 1000 vehicles surrounding the facility. Additionally, its proximity to the city center (5 kilometers) and the airport (2 kilometers) provides easy access, especially for guests attending international events.
Our facility features 12 VIP boxes positioned in an arena-style setting, suitable for watching sporting events. Wireless internet access is available throughout the hall for use by both press and spectators. Additionally, press work rooms are provided for the convenience of journalists.
Since its opening, the Kadir Has Congress Center and Sports Hall has taken its place as a source of pride in the sector, both with its interior structure and its external aesthetic appearance.
Units and Facilities: Within the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Sports Events Inc., there is the Kadir Has Congress Center, a Sports Hall, a Boxing Hall, 2 Squash Halls, a Wrestling Hall, a Table Tennis Hall, 10 Changing Rooms, a Cafeteria with a capacity of 350 people, 3 Conference and Meeting Halls with capacities of 300/200/150 people, and a Concert area where various events are held.
