WHAT IS PICKLEBALL?

How to Play Pickleball?

The game is played on a 7-meter court. Players try to land the ball in the opponent's court to reach a predetermined score. The serve is diagonal, and the game involves a special area called the "kitchen".

History

It was invented in 1965 in the USA by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum. Today, it is played by millions of people worldwide.


PICKLEBALL GAME RULES

  • Site Dimensions: 6.1m x 13.41m
  • Service Rules:
    • The service should be done diagonally.
    • The shot should be below the waist level.
    • The serve must land in the opposite court without bouncing.
  • Two-Tab Rule: The player receiving the serve must allow the ball to bounce once.
  • Kitchen (Non-Volley Zone) Rule: It is forbidden to hit a volley in the 2.13-meter area in front of the net.
  • Scoring: It is usually played up to 11 points, and a minimum difference of 2 points is required.
  • Situations in which errors can occur:
    • Sending the service to the wrong area.
    • Kicking the ball out of bounds.
    • Hitting a volley in the "Kitchen" area.
    • Failing to follow the double tab rule.
