This route is a special equestrian exploration route suitable for experienced riders, offering a chance to see both the natural beauty and historical heritage of Cappadocia. It can be planned as a full-day or two-day trip.
Our Cappadocia Horse Riding Tour begins with an entry into the Valley of Swords from Göreme.
The valley's name comes from the sword-shaped rock formations rising towards the sky. Due to the density of fairy chimneys and impressive rock structures, it is one of the most photogenic areas of Cappadocia. The Valley of Swords stretches from the lower part of the Göreme Open Air Museum to the town of Çavuşin. Within the valley, there are examples of badlands resembling swords. It takes its name from these natural rock formations. There are also numerous ancient churches within the valley. One of them is the historical settlement known as the Kızlar Monastery, dating back to the 9th century.
Highlights of this horseback riding tour
The Girls' Monastery is a 5-6 story rock-carved monastery complex located in the Valley of Swords. Believed to have been inhabited by nuns during the Byzantine period, it is one of the most impressive religious centers in the region. The Girls' Monastery is a historical monastery dating back to the 9th century. It is hand-carved into a massive rock formation within the Valley of Swords. This historical settlement includes living quarters, a church, and a monastery section.

Güllüdere Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in Cappadocia. The rock formations, in shades of pink and red, take on different colors at different times of the day. Güllü Valley is located in Göreme, Cappadocia, and is adjacent to Kılıçlar Valley, Kızılçukur Valley, and Meskendir Valley. The valley is within a steep canyon. While lush green in the summer, a small stream flows through the valley during certain months of the year. Containing numerous churches and tunnels, some of which can be traversed by horse, the valley is a historical church built entirely by hand within Güllü Valley. It gets its name, the Columned Church, from its massive columned structure. On our day trip by horse, you will have the opportunity to explore Güllü Valley from end to end on horseback and visit the Columned Church.
